Today is My Alive Day Anniversary

On April 7,2018, I was involved in a very serious auto accident on I-90 on Snoqualmie Pass.

I am alive because of the many angels who helped at the scene of the accident, the professionals in the Level 1 Trauma center, and through seven major surgeries and many months of recovery with family, friends, and colleagues..

I described the accident and the aftermath last year.

Like Senator Duckworth, who I got the idea of my Alive Day from, I celebrate being alive on this day every year.

I am bummed that I never saw the white light of a near death experience.

I joke that when I got to the Pearly Gates, I was turned away and thrown back to earth. I am part of St Peter’s “catch and release” program.

I still don’t know why I was thrown back to earth. But I am glad I am still here to watch and participate in the life events of our three children and their families which include four grand children.

I am glad I am alive to celebrate another year of life.

Peace.
